Discovering a hidden gem of marine biodiversity with the Catana “Oceanus II”

The German magazine Natur features an article on the “Blue Ocean” expedition to the Gorringe Bank, located in the Atlantic Ocean.

The article highlights the work of OCEANUS II, the very first hull built by the Catana shipyard. This catamaran is used by the CCMAR scientific team from the University of the Algarve for research missions, including the deployment of a ROV at depths ranging from 65 to 160 meters. This collaboration underscores the longevity of this series, which remains operational today in the service of marine study and exploration.
