Adapting to the Wind for Peak Performance
Unlike a monocoque’s keel, which creates constant drag, our two daggerboards can be adjusted in height based on your sailing needs:
- Upwind: Lowering the leeward daggerboard (opposite the wind) allows you to maintain a very tight heading, up to 35 degrees of apparent wind.
- Downwind: Raising them eliminates drag, leading to sharp acceleration and making it much easier to reach planing speeds.
Safety and Stability First
This system is also a major safety asset. When motoring or sailing at night, lowering the boards provides effective protection for the rudders and sail drives. In heavy swells, they stabilize the boat during surfs and in cross seas.
