Design

Sleeker Design, Smarter Comfort

The new OC² embraces a minimalist, contemporary design crafted to elevate life onboard. The workspace has been expanded for greater functionality, with optimized preparation and circulation areas that enhance everyday efficiency. Every detail has been reimagined to maximize storage capacity without compromising fluid movement throughout the boat.

The lounge areas have also been refined, offering exceptional comfort for both relaxation and socializing. The entire design is built around innovative, durable, and lightweight materials of outstanding quality — perfectly aligned with Catana’s uncompromising standards of performance and longevity.

The Lounge

Adaptability for Any Situation, at Sea or at Anchor

The cockpit table is designed to adapt to every moment of the day. It transforms with ease — into a daybed for an afternoon nap in the shade, a large folding table for convivial dinners, or a low table for relaxed drinks.

At the end of the sofa, a pivoting, removable pouf provides flexible seating whenever needed. The extended L-shaped sofa invites you to unwind and offers a convenient place to set down your belongings before or after a swim.

The U-shaped layout creates the perfect space for a second sun lounger or a crew meal, while the flowing S-shaped line naturally leads to the aft sunbathing area — an idyllic spot to enjoy dinner as the sun sets.

The kitchen

Comfort and Ergonomics Designed for Sailing

Designed for both comfort and autonomy, the living space features a large refrigerator/freezer, a deep L-shaped sofa offering a true cocoon of tranquility, and an enlarged salon table perfect for social gatherings. A carbon beam integrated into the roof provides exceptional strength and stability, withstanding up to 40 tonnes of pressure.

The galley is as functional as it is elegant, with an L-shaped layout and panoramic views. It includes a Corian countertop, intelligent storage solutions for spices, bottles, and overhead cabinets, an enlarged central island, and optimized ventilation. The surface area has been increased by 20% for greater efficiency. Optional electric cooktops and an oven further enhance the onboard experience.

The saloon

A Lounge-Inspired Space for Every Journey

Onboard circulation has been optimized to naturally encourage conversation and social interaction with the crew. The helm station features Catana’s signature 360° pivoting seat system, combining comfort with maneuverability. Meanwhile, the elevated salon offers an unobstructed panoramic view of the horizon — whether under sail or at anchor.

Advanced Kit®

Tailored Engineering Solutions

This optimized foam kit is custom-machined to perfectly match the contours of the manufacturing molds. Such precision minimizes adjustments, reduces resin waste by up to 60% compared to a standard kit, and lowers the final weight of the composite structure.

Carbon Infusion

Our Expertise in Carbon Infusion

Since its beginnings, CATANA has used carbon as a consistent, standardized technical solution. This high-end material is employed selectively and with purpose, following a simple principle: Price, Weight, Performance. Its use provides exceptional rigidity, transforming every gust of wind into pure acceleration.

Innovative Interior

CompoLite®

The Ocean Class is the world’s first catamaran to feature Compolite, a next-generation technical composite. Used throughout the interior, it combines lightness, mechanical strength, and enhanced resistance to the harshest marine environments.

Partly made from recyclable materials, Compolite reduces interior weight while improving both acoustic and thermal insulation.

Redefining the Cockpit

On most catamarans, the living spaces — the cockpit and the salon — are divided into two separate zones. During extended cruises, this limitation soon becomes apparent: sailors often resort to installing removable screens to shield the cockpit from the sun and the elements.

Yet these remain only temporary solutions.

Speed with Silence

Sound of Sailing

What’s most striking about the Catana OC is its silence. The boat glides without a sound — thanks in part to its rigid construction and to the foam insulation placed between the structures and the interior. The materials used in the joinery and the large glazed panels also contribute to a dramatic reduction in noise levels. At over 12 knots, you quickly forget you’re even moving.

A Secure, Integrated Living Space

CATANA offers a new alternative. Onboard the OCEAN CLASS, the living space transforms into a unique, modular area protected by a rigid, easy-to-use structure. The entire space can be opened to create a vast open-plan volume — at once connected to the outdoors and perfectly sheltered.

This innovation unites interior and exterior living for optimal comfort both under sail and at anchor, in every season.

Functional Elegance

Born from a refined blend of modern design and advanced materials, the Ocean Class interiors are crafted to deliver maximum comfort without compromising functionality at sea. Natural light pours through large glazed panels in the hulls, enhancing the sense of space while showcasing abundant storage solutions.

Ergonomic Nacelle Design

Ultimate Comfort for Extended Voyages

Within the living unit, four distinct social zones have been designed to enhance long voyages:

  • A dedicated chart table and desk with 360° visibility.

  • A cozy raised salon, featuring a watch berth and a brunch area.

  • A fully equipped galley with generous work surfaces, ample storage and sliding drawers, an XXL fridge, and a dishwasher.

  • An open lounge that seamlessly extends to the cockpit. The modular central table adapts as needed — transforming into an extra berth, a workspace, or a dining area for six.

An elevated seat, positioned at the entrance, creates a natural link between the daybed, the convertible lounge sofa, and the helm station.

The Helm Station

A Return to the Original Helm

Staying true to the spirit of Catana’s first generations, the OCEAN CLASS embraces the single helm station — a deliberate choice that prioritizes simplicity, control, and visibility. The compact, ergonomic deck plan allows all sail controls to be handled while remaining sheltered from the elements, ensuring maneuvers that are both precise and reassuring. Designed as a genuine living space, the helm station comfortably accommodates up to five people.

Electric Daggerboards

Electric Daggerboards: The Ultimate Luxury

On most cruising catamarans, manual daggerboards require anticipation and speed reduction to operate, compromising the fluidity of maneuvers.

Catana redefines the experience with electric-assist daggerboards, guided by dual PTFE bearings for precise, reliable, and frictionless operation. Controlled directly from the helm station, they ensure smooth, safe, and efficient maneuvers in all sea and wind conditions.

With this innovation, the daggerboard is no longer just a performance feature — it becomes a true asset for onboard maneuverability and safety.

Aft Cockpit

The Art of Living at Anchor

In its open configuration, as the sliding glass panels retract, the salon seamlessly extends into the aft lounge. The wind-sheltered terrace reveals a built-in plancha, while the stern transforms into a true open-air living space, ideal for sharing moments together or enjoying nights beneath the stars.

Designed to Carry Everything

The Forepeaks

Instead of adapting the equipment to the boat, we reversed the process. We began with the real needs of life at sea — sails, paddles, workshops, and provisions — and designed a catamaran capable of carrying it all. Its forepeak, with over 10 m³ of volume, is the largest in its class, achieved without compromising performance.
